Al Reem Island is across the water and has far more homes to choose from, so many people who work at ADGM look there when the island's projects are too small or too expensive for them.

ADGM is Abu Dhabi's financial free zone and operates under English common law. For a buyer that mostly means a steady flow of professionals working on the island, which supports demand for rented homes, and a district that is planned and maintained as a single business address.
Living on the island versus across the water
On Al Maryah Island you can be a short walk from work, the Galleria and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, but you have four projects to choose from. On Al Reem Island you have many more towers and communities, and a commute by road. Compare a real commute at your working hours before deciding.
